Library Services

The library building is not currently open for in-person visits but we are still here for you!  

  • Library staff remain available via phone (413-662-5321) and email (
    • Sunday 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.
    • Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
    • Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Librarians are also available for research help until 10pm Sunday through Thursday via our Ask Us service.
  • You can also set up a one-on-one appointment with a librarian via Microsoft Teams, where we can share screens and have the next best thing to an in-person interaction.  
  • Our helpful FAQ is available 24/7.

A book or DVD Log into library catalog and place hold (video instructions), or call/text the library When you receive an email letting you know the hold is available, call or text the library to arrange a pickup time. Pick up the book from the Grab & Go cart outside the library exit doors. Book drop outside library exit doors (open 24/7)
A reserve reading Fill out the Request for Scanned Course Reading form (we may limit the amount that can be scanned), or call/email the library Library will email a PDF to your MCLA email address. N/A
A laptop Call or text the library. You must have a completed Laptop Lending Agreement on file; if you haven’t yet, please fill one out before requesting the laptop. When you call/text, we’ll arrange a pickup time. A staff member will meet you at the exit door to hand you the laptop.  Call/text the library before coming over. Laptops must be returned when the library is open. A staff member will meet you at the door to receive the laptop. Do not put laptops in the book drop!

To renew your books, log in to the library catalog using the login box on the right hand side of the screen.

Login Information:

Username: A number

Password: Students: Date of Birth in MMDDYYY format, Faculty and staff: Last name
