Where is the seed library located?

The physical seed library is located by the entrance at the MCLA Freel Library

How to use the seed library

The MCLA Seed Library is free to use.

It is open to MCLA students, staff, and faculty and the broader community.

Please take no more that 10 packets.

In every section of the seed library, there are description cards for each type of seed available. Please take a picture of this card for growing instructions or write useful information in the notes section of our seed packets. 

Seed donations are welcome if they are free from plant material and dry. We welcome donations of commercial seed packets and seeds saved by growers. We do not accept moldy or wet seeds or seeds of invasive or illegal plants. Please use the contact below for questions or to arrange a donation.  

 

What types of seeds are available?

We always offer a wide variety of vegetable, fruit, herb, flower, and native plant seeds. 

New for 2025 are our native (to the Northeast of the North American continent) offerings which include Echinacea (Purple Coneflower), Milkweed, and New Jersey Tea and our herbal offerings, which include Chamomile and Saint John's Wort.
