Freel Library is pleased to announce that the MCLA community now has access to the Project Muse Premium Collection of online journals. A database of humanities and social science content, Project Muse makes accessible over 250 scholarly journals not previously available in any of our other databases. In addition, it expands the coverage for another 265 titles, often filling in the embargo period on current issues of journals in JSTOR and EBSCOhost databases. Accessible on campus and off, you’ll find a link to Project Muse at the library homepage. The list of included journal titles, with coverage dates, can be found at http://muse.jhu.edu/about/muse_journals_list.html. Journal citations in other databases we subscribe to, including those in EBSCOhost’s Academic Search Premier and JSTOR, will link to available articles in Project Muse. In the next few weeks, you will also see links to Project Muse in Google Scholar.
Not all journals in the Project Muse database are part of the Premium Collection. About a dozen titles are indexed, but don’t offer article content as part of our subscription. Also, although we are not subscribing to the digital books in Project Muse, PM is offering a selection of open access titles from Cornell University Press and will, in 2018, be making available several hundred additional scholarly books through its open access platform MUSE Open.
Funding for this great addition to our collection comes from the federal Title III grant awarded to MCLA in 2016.
Below are some of the journal titles that are unique to the Project Muse database.
