Greetings!

Welcome to Freel Library!

We are so excited to welcome you to Freel Library as a student worker! As a part of our team, you play a vital role in providing exceptional service to the college community. You have the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of libraries, research, and higher education and we welcome participation and input in many of our functions.

How to Use this Guide

This guide is meant to be a one-stop stop for all your information needs as a student library assistant.  We will be going into greater depth on many of the topics during your in-person training, so please use this guide as a comprehensive introduction to your duties here.  Also included in this guide are academic calendars, helpful links, and news and updates.  Feel free to return to this guide as often as you need.

Tracking Your Training

On some of the pages, you will notice a quiz or two.  Each quiz refers to the information on that page, including any documents or updates.  Please complete each quiz.  These quizzes are designed to help you remember important information, but they are also a training guide for me.  Feel free to use scrap paper or open the quizzes in new tabs/windows.

Job Description

I always recommend keeping a copy of your job description for your own personal reference.  It also comes in handy when writing resumes.
