Borrowing Books: use your student id card to borrow books for up to 28 days. For more information on borrowing and renewals, see this page.
Search Everything: a library tool to search all of the library research databases, print collections, and electronic collections at one time. A good place to start your research. You can find the search box on the library's main page or go directly to it here.
Course Reserves: some instructors put the required textbooks or supplemental readings on reserve at the library. Ask for these items at the front desk. You will need your MCLA card to borrow a reserve item and they are for library use only. You can see what is on reserve here.
Hours: the library hours can be found here and are displayed on the library's main page on the upper right hand corner.
Computers: the library has computers on the main floor in the reference room and the group study room, and on the 2nd floor along the back wall. We also loan out laptops for use in the library at the circulation desk. You can connect to MCLA's wireless network and print from the network. If you need help, check this page or contact the help desk.
Databases: what you search in order to find articles from journals, newspapers, magazines, and more. You will often hear your professors ask you to use scholarly, peer-reviewed resources. This is where you can easily find them, not on Google.

Interlibrary Loan: looking for a book or article that we don't own? Place a request with our Interlibrary loan service and we will get the item for you.
Williams College Libraries: You must speak to a Freel Library Reference Librarian before going to the Williams College Libraries to check out books. Williams will not let you borrow books without the appropriate paperwork from the MCLA Library. Questions? Get in touch with the library staff.
